Charles C. Wise, Jr.

(1913 - 2005)

Charles C. Wise, Jr., was born in Washington, D.C. on April 1, 1913. He was educated in D.C. Public Schools and received A.B. (cum laude) and J.D. degrees from George Washington University and its Law School. Later he was awarded a Masters in Fiscal Administration from Columbus University. He has been a member of the D. C. and Federal Bars since 1935. Mr. Wise was a lawyer and administrator in the Federal Government for 40 years in some dozen departments and agencies. His career has been summarized in Who's Who in America for the last half-century. For a change of pace, while still at work daily, he taught Freshman English to evening classes at George Washington and American Universities.

After retirement in 1973, he returned to his roots in Virginia. He has taught classes in "American Government" and "Death and Society" at Blue Ridge Community College and has often appeared there as guest lecturer in sessions of "Parapsychology' and "Comparative Religion."

His career followed that cited of the traditional Chinese Mandarin; in office a Confucian, in retirement a Taoist. Going strictly by the book while in public service, he became a mystic in his retirement. He has published eight books on spiritual and psychological matters. Having been in retirement and without current official responsibilities, he feels free to state his views fully and honestly without undue concern for "political correctness."
